Dr. Jane L. Snowdon is the Chief Innovation Officer, IBM Federal. She has responsibility for defining and driving strategy, and designing new solutions that address defense, civilian and healthcare client mission requirements through innovation and technology adoption. Jane is the Director of the IBM Federal Cloud Innovation Center in Washington DC. She co-chairs the Cyber Security Education and Workforce Development Working Group with NIST and the Department of Homeland Security and is a member of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) Council on Technology and Innovation. Jane serves on the Advisory Boards of Georgia Tech and the Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at George Mason University. Prior to this position, Jane was a Senior Manager and Research Staff Member in the Department of Strategy and Worldwide Technical Operations at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. She was responsible for jointly leading the direction of IBM's overall Research strategy across twelve global labs and the 2013 Global Technology Outlook. Jane has thirty-three years of research, engineering, and management experience in the government, industrial, energy, travel and transportation, and small and medium business sectors. Jane received her Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a M.S. degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a B.S. degree with distinction in Industrial and Management Systems Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University. She is a Senior Member of IIE, IEEE, and a Member of ACT-IAC, AFCEA, CASE, INFORMS, NYAS, Philosophical Society of Washington, SWE, WIT, and WITI. Jane has published more than sixty articles in mathematics, computer science, and engineering literature. She is a recognized thought leader who frequently speaks on the future of information technology at conferences and universities. Jane is a past co-chair for the IBM Watson Women's Network (WWN) and past WWN representative to the Watson Diversity Council. Jane was honored by Girls Inc. Westchester in 2012 as a prominent professional and role model for the next generation of women leaders.
