Arthur Geoffrion is the James A. Collins Professor of Management at UCLA's Anderson School, where he has taught since finishing degrees at Cornell and then Stanford. He is the author of about 60 published works on mathematical programming and its applications, on the foundations of modeling, and on OR/MS in the digital age. He has been active as a consultant and in various editorial capacities. In 1978 he co-founded INSIGHT, Inc., a management consulting firm, and in 1982 he founded what is now known as the INFORMS Roundtable. His awards and honors include a NATO System Science Prize, honorary membership in Omega Rho, the TIMS Distinguished Service Medal, the George E. Kimball Medal, and election to the International Academy of Management and the National Academy of Engineering. He has served as president of TIMS and of INFORMS.
