President and Chief Executive Officer

Alan Baratz is a highly regarded business executive with over 25 years of experience in the technology industry and a proven track record of managing and building market leaders. Mr. Baratz brings to NeoPath Networks an extensive array of operational and management experience including leadership positions at information technology startups, established industry leaders and private equity firms.

Widely known as the first president of the Software Products and Platforms (JavaSoft) division at Sun Microsystems, he led the growth and adoption of the Java platform from its infancy to a robust platform supporting mission-critical applications in nearly 80 percent of Fortune 1000 companies. Mr. Baratz has also served as managing director at E.M. Warburg, Pincus & Co.; President and Chief Executive Officer of Versata Inc.; President and Chief executive Officer of Zaplet Inc.; President and Chief Executive Officer of Delphi Internet and has held various executive positions at IBM.

Mr. Baratz holds both a Master's degree and a Doctorate in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He received a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
